Our schedule of coached sessions is subject to change throughout the season — check back frequently.
Winter Training: Mon 5:30p, Wed 5:30p, Sat 10a
Lake Leelanau: closed for the season. Tentative summer schedule: Mo 5:45-7:45p, Tu 7-9a, We 5:45-7:45p, Th 7-9a, Su 7-9a
Glen Lake: closed for the season. Tentative summer schedule: Mo 7-9a, We 7-9a, Fr 7-9a, Sa 7-9a
Guest Policy
Experienced rowers (age 16+) are welcome to join us in a scheduled session twice each season. Please register as a guest rower on iCrew here. Once registered you will be asked to sign a liability waiver and will be able to toggle into upcoming sessions.

Coached Sessions
Coached sessions provide on-the-water instruction from an experienced coach, including group skill-building drills and individual pointers.
instruction is targeted towards either recreational or competitive rowing depending on participant skills and interests.

Sweep Rowing
NMRC rows sweep boats (plus some larger sculling boats) on South Lake Leelanau out of Solon Township Park. Our sweep rowing program is a fun environment where rowers of all levels work together to improve their skills throughout the season.

Sculling
NMRC’s sculling program on Glen Lake offers something for rowers of all skill levels. Scullers who have passed a self-rescue test and demonstrated confidence and skill in a shell may also take out boats without a coach. NMRC rows out of the Glen Lake Yacht Club.

Learn to Row
Learn to Row and Intro to Sculling classes are an excellent way to get an introduction to the sport. These sessions cover the basics of technique, boat safety, boat terms, and commands and give attendees the opportunity to go out in a boat.

Winter Training
Our winter training uses a combination of erg (rowing machine) work and weight work to help maintain and build fitness for the next rowing season.

Regattas
Join the NMRC team at a local or regional regatta. It’s a great way to test your skills and meet rowers from other clubs.

Clinics
Clinics provide an opportunity to learn in a small group session with coaches and may be geared to rowers with similar skill levels.
