Coached Sessions
Coached sessions provide on-the-water instruction from an experienced coach, including group skill-building drills and individual pointers.
Instruction is targeted towards either recreational or competitive rowing depending on participant skills and interests.
Members can sign up for sessions though their iCrew account.
-
Sweep Rowing
NMRC rows coached sweep boats on South Lake Leelanau out of Solon Township Park. Our sweep rowing program is a fun environment where rowers of all levels work together to improve their skills throughout the season.
Members can sign up for sessions though their iCrew account.
-
Sculling
NMRC’s coached sculling programs on on both Glen Lake and Lake Leelanau offer something for rowers of all skill levels. Scullers who have passed a self-rescue test and demonstrated confidence and skill in a shell may also take out boats without a coach.
Members can sign up for coached sessions though their iCrew account.
-
Learn to Row
Learn to Row and Learn to Scull classes are an excellent way to get an introduction to the sport. These sessions cover the basics of technique, boat safety, boat terms, and commands and give attendees the opportunity to go out in a boat.

-
Winter Training
Our winter training uses a combination of erg (rowing machine) work and weight work to help maintain and build fitness for the next rowing season.
Members can sign up for sessions though their iCrew account.
-
Regattas
Join the NMRC team at a local or regional regatta. It’s a great way to test your skills and meet rowers from other clubs.
-
Clinics
Clinics provide an opportunity to learn in a small group session with coaches and may be geared to rowers with similar skill levels.
