Sept 25, 2022 Newsletter

Hello NMRC,

Weather permitting this week, there are still great rowing opportunities at Glen Lake and Solon Township.  Also, if you still need to fulfill your NMRC volunteer hour commitment, consider attending the de-rigging at Glen Lake (9/30 details below) or Solon Township (10/29 details below).

Glen Lake News:

This is the LAST WEEK to join the All Level Sculling Skills and Drills sessions offered at Glen Lake!  Weather permitting, sessions are available on Monday, 9/26. Wednesday, 9/28 and Friday, 9/30 from 7:30 to 9:00 AM.  Be sure to sign in on iCrew if you plan to join us!

Join Us — September 30, 3pm-9pm, Glen Lake Boat Storage and Social.

We are gathering to put Glen Lake’s sculling boats away.  Join us and earn some volunteer hours.  We will row the club shells to a nearby launch, load them onto cars and move them to a nearby winter storage.  After the boats are tucked away, we will celebrate together.  Please sign up on iCrew if you plan to attend and also email Diane Hamilton at diham0675@gmail.com.

Solon Township News:

Rowing will continue at Solon Township into October. Please check iCrew for opportunities or contact mindy@northernmichiganrowing.club

Derigging at Solon Township is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of October 29. We will watch the weather and change the date if necessary.

The Great Winter Storage Search continues:  If you have a lead on any storage options, please contact Susan O’Connor at 231-218-0774

Shout Outs:

A big thank you to Elizabeth Roth who keeps these newsletters coming to help the club in the very important job of keeping us all informed.

Thank yous go to all the members who fill in as subs to make the big boats able to go out at Solon The quick responses to the many texts are also very much appreciated by the location coordinators. There are still lots of opportunities to row, please let Mindy or Susan know if you are available to fill a seat. Monday and Wednesday night boats tend to need at least a few people each week.

Thank you to Diane Hamilton for managing the NMRC merchandise. There is still lots of logo gear available so please check out the store on our website: www.northernmichiganrowing.club

Lastly, thank you to all the coaches and coxswains who are keeping both locations running smoothly. Your dedication is obvious and appreciated.

If you have a Shout Out, please contact mindy@northernmichiganrowing.club to have it included in the newsletter.
