October 14, 2024 Newsletter

Hello NMRC!

We are still rowing! Impress your friends and toggle in so you can be among the hearty October rowers. The fall colors and waters are stunning. We recommend warm layers and a pop of blaze orange this time of year to help differentiate us from the ducks.

We can report that we have a signed two-year lease with Solon Township, which includes an expansion of the yard to give us some extra room. They were very generous in allowing us to extend our lease and give us more space. We are thanking them by painting the two pavillions a nice white to brighten up the park!

De-Rigging Small Boats

We de-rigged and stored small boats today! Thank you to the mighty crew that made it happen. Special thank you to Diane for storing the small boats in her storage building. It takes all of our members showing up when needed to help keep the club running smoothly. We appreciate you so much.

OCTOBER 27th- We Need Lots of Help De-Rigging Large Boats!

Save the date and sign in to help de-rig the large boats at Solon Township on October 27 at 11:00. We need all hands on deck for this work day. In addition to de-rigging and arranging the large boats for their winter’s rest, we will be painting the two brown pavilions by the water as a thank you to the Township for another great rowing season at an awesome and accessible location. We may also do a little leaf cleanup, so bring your rakes.

Thank you to the Sleeping Bear Volunteers!

Thank you to our 11 volunteers for the Sleeping Bear Marathon on October 5. It was a sunny and fun day to cheer on the runners and we earned the club $1,000!

Thank you to those who have donated to help fund the quads! We have almost paid for them between generous donations and volunteer opportunities.

We still need $1500 toward the purchase of the 2nd quad.

YES! I WANT TO HELP USING PAYPAL GIVING
