Sept 20, 2022 Newsletter

Hello NMRC!

Fall rowing is coming and some patches of colors are appearing on the shores. It’s a beautiful time to get on the water!

If you want to know where you stand with your iCrew punches on your punch card, go to your Profile; Rower Settings (all the way at the bottom); Punch Card Balance (again at the bottom). If you click the button with the (…) it also shows debits/credits and an audit trail of checked in rows. Punches do not transfer to next rowing season, but we are working on some transfer options for winter fitness training. Stay tuned.

Also check on the iCrew calendar to confirm rowing times and offerings as we all get back to our Fall schedules and shorter days. There are still lots of options to get on the water at both Glen Lake and Solon Township!

Glen Lake News:

Fall Sculling- Please look at your email to see when rows are scheduled based on rowing for the last of the season.

Save the date — September 30, 3pm-?, Glen Lake Boat Storage and Social.

Let's all pitch in to get the Glen Lake sculling boats put away for the season. It’s a great way to get some volunteer hours and have fun with other club members. We will row the club shells to a nearby launch, load them onto cars, and move them into nearby winter storage. When we’re finished, we will gather to socialize and celebrate another fun season.

Member Meet-Up Recap:

It was a great time and a good turnout for our first meet up at Bel Lago last Tuesday. Who wants to host the next one? All that needs to be done is to pick a place, night, and time- and we’ll get it on the schedule.

Solon Township News:

Derigging the boats will be scheduled when we know when the end of the season will officially be. Temperature and weather will be the deciding factors. It’s possible we may row until the end of October. Fingers crossed. The derigging will need many hands to make it efficient. We might even enlist Randy to cook some brats for us that we have left over from the Community Picnic!
