November 20, 2022 Newsletter

Happy Thanksgiving NMRC Family,

Winter is not kidding around. As a white-out descended last Wednesday night in Cedar, 8 rowers dug in for a fun Erg and floor workout including lots of stretching, medicine ball, yoga and pilates moves. We ended with a timed relay that got hearts going and inspired laughs as teammates attempted speedy Erg handoffs in a tight race! We are opening our Wednesday nights to the community. Please let friends who have been curious about our club know about this program offering. There is a $10 suggested donation for non-members. The next class will be November, 30th.

Planning Sessions Have Begun!

12 members gathered at Solon Township Hall for our first Planning Session after the Wednesday class. Top priorities identified were Season 2023 Programming and Fee Structure, Member Outreach and Retention, Fundraising and Grant Writing, as well as New Rower Integration. It was immediately clear that NMRC members bring diverse knowledge and experiences to the table that will insure we build and sustain the vision of a member run club. We need your help! We would love to have more members involved in the planning process because we value everyone’s input.

Our next Planning Session will be on Dec. 7th, 7-8pm at Solon Twp Hall focused on Programming. Please contact Mindy Hawley, at mindy@northernmichiganrowing.club if you can’t make the meetings but have specific interests and ideas for the club!
