Northern Michigan Rowing
Join us on Lake Leelanau and Glen Lake!
Our Mission: To promote and provide recreational and competitive rowing opportunities and instruction to people of all ages, income levels, and physical abilities throughout Northern Michigan.
With 100 miles of Lake Michigan Shoreline and over 30 inland lakes, Leelanau County, MI is a rower’s paradise.
Our members live, work and vacation both in the county and in the surrounding communities.
Our organization, Northern Michigan Rowing Club, a 501c3 non-profit, was formed in late 2020.
After a successful first season (2021) in small boats on Glen Lake, we expanded to a larger location on Lake Leelanau in 2022 that accommodates bigger, multi-person rowing shells. This has allowed us to provide expanded opportunities for current and future members by operating in these two beautiful and unique locations.
Our numbers have expanded to approximately 50 members. NMRC membership includes activities at both of our locations.
On average, our members have been rowing for 3-5 years. But, we love introducing new rowers to our favorite activity through regularly scheduled “Learn to Row” and “Learn to Scull” classes. Look under the “Events” tab and sign up for our newsletter below to stay informed about upcoming classes.
